I'm so excited to share the completion of another element of our renovation! Where? What? The archways between our living room, dining room and kitchen/hallway!

In the beginning... we had doorways that separated the rooms.


Then we opened things up...

Inspiried by the coved ceiling in the living room...


I wanted to capture this curve in the corners of the archway... just square corners wouldn't do!! I'd seen what I wanted in other, older homes/apartments, but it took a mega internet search to find an example!! And here it is:


DH had to make some plywood forms and mounted them in the corners...


Then the plaster/drywall guys came in and made it all come together!!
Here's the final result!!


I simply love it!!
Now... I have to paint

Holy crap!!!! That is an AWESOME transformation!!!! Wowsers!!!! Even just the unfinished walls are a huge improvement over the hospital green that was on the walls before!!

Hurry up and paint so we can see the finished room!!!!!

I've primed the room so I'm all ready to paint... but, because I'll likely be painting in the evenings after work (unless I wait until Saturday), DH has to mount our new light fixture in this room so that I can see what I'm doing!
As for a finished room... I can promise you a painted room, but I doubt it'll be finished any time soon! I think I need to get Sweetie over to help me make the space beautiful!

A work of art; literally ........congratulations, once again..............

We've started painting the living room and DH is installing baseboards and window trim right now as I type... I can't wait to share updated photos later this week!!!

Love the arches and very in keeping with the house style.
