The room is painted!! Cheesy Grin

I absolutely LOVE the colour!!
I only wish the colour translated to the photos Sad

Unfortunately it looks kinda wierd because I didn't cut to the ceiling... seemed pointless since we're installing crown. It's going to look great once we have all the trim installed!

Hey... I almost forgot... I changed my green choice from Herbes de Provence to Stanley Park.

Looks.... like a work in progress!! Wink

You've made a lot of progress in a short amount of time Bow

How come you changed the wall colour?? Is Stanley Park more gray?? (Looks gray in the pics).

RE: TT's Bedroom Progress Thread
LOL HaHaHa... oh ya, it looks like a work in progress!! Probably because it is Cheesy Grin

Lots of progress in a short amount of time?
Because these projects get done on weekends it feels like it's taken forever to get to this point... and we have more to do before we can move in. EEK BUT... it's close!

So why the change in colour?

As a colour I really like the Herbe de Provence, but as I lived with the story board I created - sat it in the living room where I could stare at it while watching TV - I came to feel that the colour was not full and rich enough. I think it may even have lacked some warmth. And even though it wasn't, it reminded me of the horrible greens that had been used throughout the main floor of our house by the previous owners (our living room still sports one of the gastly greens).

Almost every time I opened my fan deck I'd find myself drawn to the Stanley Park, wondering if I could use it anywhere... so on Saturday morning, about an hour before I went out to purchase the paint, I pulled SP from the deck and compared it to the brocade paisley fabric I'm using for our duvet cover; it was a far better match to the green in the fabric. So I took the chance and made the change... and I'm so happy I did!! Cheesy Grin

Yes, there is more gray in this green... but it's really quite mossy in colour rather then sage-ish like the HdeP. The photos I've shared just don't show the true colour Sad Hopefully once I have trim installed, drapes up & furniture moved in the colour will show more perfectly in my pictures. Fingers crossed!

The great thing about choosing this colour is that it helped enormously in making a decision about the living and dining room colours... but I can't share that info right now because my fan deck is at home and I can't remember the colour names Doh So... a topic for another thread.

RE: TT's Bedroom Progress Thread
We're installing carpet today!! Yay!

And DH and I have almost finished with the wardrobe installation!!
Here's a pic:

It's so massive that I have to stand on my tippie-toes to hang clothing on the top rod! LOL
We still have some drawers to install... and, of course, the doors. Razz
And we have lots more stuff to put in those drawers and on those shelves!

I LOVE IT!

I'll post another photo later today of the room all carpeted. Cheesy Grin

Here's our room, all carpeted!!
[Image: DSC00715.jpg] [Image: DSC00717.jpg]

We've installed a lovely paper-bag brown coloured berber carpet!

Now all we have to do is 1) install our chandelier (and other minor electrical work for Jason) and 2) install and paint the trim = baseboards, window & door trim and crown moulding... as well as triming out the wardrobes (which, thankfully[!], doesn't have to be painted!)!!!!!!!
I'm so happy! Yay!

Once we have this trim work done, we'll be able to move our furniture in...
but I still have to make my duvet cover... AND pretty up the room!

RE: TT's Bedroom Progress Thread
I'm so excited; DH has started installing trim in our bedroom!! Yay!

I hope you'll remember... DH had trimmed the window and door in the kitchen and then I decided I wanted a more arts & crafts style trim. Being the good guy that he is, he agreed to change the plan. Peck

This is the first window in the house with the arts & crafts trim... and it looks terrific! A little truth - DH has yet to install the apron under the sill (a 4" trim piece)... but I was so excited at the result so far that I had to share! He made me promise to tell you that it's not finished Embarrassed

Hasn't he done a great job?!

RE: TT's Bedroom Progress Thread
I spent the day removing the paint around the small window in our bedroom. What a miserable job! I did three coats of this stinky paint remover - after each coat I'd scrape off layers of off-white, green, purple and pink paint. Unfortunately I still have at least 1, maybe 2 more coats of the remover to get enough paint off to allow me to re-paint without bumps and thick clumps. Yuck!!!

At least I took off enough paint around the areas where DH is installing our new trim so he'll be able to finish everything tomorrow Cheesy Grin

So tomorrow evening, I'll finish off my paint removal and then I'll be ready to paint all the trim! I'll work on that through the week.

I hope DH can get the crown up later this week so that I can paint that, too.
Then we can move back into the room Cheesy Grin

And when we do... we'll have light because...

Jason has installed our new chandelier!

It's perfect for the room!
I love it!!

Oh, pretty!!! :clapping:

That's one bad thing about old houses -- all the layers of paint and wallpaper that were slapped on over the years. But all your hard work will be worth it in the end -- your house is going to be FABU!!!!!! Yay!
