Top Ten Trends
Just an excerpt from a pull out in The Vancouver Province on the top trends for Spring 2007 as viewed by Lynda Reeves

1. Eco home - buy 'green' Bamboo towels and sheets. Soy products

2. In the Woods - Tree stump tables and wood with the bark still on

3. Painted furniture - furniture lacquered to a high finish, pastels, white or grey.
orange or red creates a big statement
4. Prints - Printed fabric and wallpaper are huge. Big happy prints, not 'ditzy' little
prints of the past
5. Lighten up - The trend of dark floors has now gone to really light. Accessories
are almost driftwood - with silver - grey tones.
6. Chandeliers still - Hanging fixtures are everywhere. They're big, big, big. Not
just crystal. Wall sconces are back too.
7. Closet organizers - Dressing room boutique feeling

8. Boutique Hotel - Not a new trend but expanding fast. White towels, white
chairs, crisp white duvet covers, dishes in white.
9. Decorative Lamps - Colored gourd shaped or knobby shaped ceramic. Nice
curvy shapes.
10. New Country Style - Rustic and relaxed. Fresh and pale. Paired down
conventional country. No high back chairs. Not
frilly but tailored. easy fabrics in blues, soft greens
and grey are key.

The new color for 2007 is Grey, the new neutral..................

People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do.

RE: Top Ten Trends
I go along with renewable source products, painting and refreshing with the latest perkier colours, but flooring? I can't imagine ripping up my wood flooring !

I still think that there are some things that are classic and I have never decorated by trends that don't fit with my personality.

oh, and my kitchen has been painted and repainted grey for 13 year. The colour does not compete with the other elements in the room.
