And here are a couple of mirrors to try above the night table. In the second one, the areas that look yellow are actually clear, so whatever is behind the mirror will show through (in this case, it would be the wallpaper). Do either of them work??
I'm planning to replace all the knobs on the furniture with crystal knobs -- assuming we can figure out how to make the ones I bought at Lee Valley fit.
JC-PG will repair all the areas with damaged plaster, like here:

And he'll skim coat the remaining living room walls so that they're smooth and ready for paint!

He'll also incorporate curves into the three corners of the doorways between the living room, dining room and hallway (shown here)

Finally... JC-PG will mud & tape (etc.) the drywall in our "hallway" so DH doesn't have to!!! This means this these walls, as well as the already finished dining room walls, will be ready for us to install the panelled wainscotting

I was reading on another forum about the Lottery Home in Oakville.........

I actually toured the home last week when I made my quick little visit to see caro and smoodg.
caro and I went through it and there were great features but a few that caught me off guard. caro had already noted them since she had been through before.
The butler's pantry did not have a dishwasher and the sink was a 6 inch wide trough sink. You couldn't wash anything in it let alone a platter. The floor to ceiling shelving was glass fronted.....not the best choice IMHO.
The kitchen didn't have ANYWHERE to put your food or pots and pans. No cupboards or pantry, go figure........
Family room was nice although the TV was above the f/place.
Main floor lighting was very nice but a bit of overkill on the drum shape.
Loved the floors, 6" rough hewn wood.
Bedrooms were all well appointed; not a huge master. Closets were on the smaller side. Storage was at a premium for sure.
Walk out basement was fantastic; beautiful wool carpets throughout.
Lot size couldn't have been more than 9000sq ft. All in all a nice property but not worth the 3.5m projected price tag.

The vinyl letters for the word art were in the mailbox when I went home for lunch. They look great -- except they're freakin' 1" tall. I thought I was ordering 6" tall letters -- turns out, the entire sheet of letters is 6" tall. So 4 rows of letters squeezed into 6" is little letters. So those are useless to me, and it's going to cost about $150 to get the right size.
And my tooth is bothering me. Ever bitten down on aluminium foil on a tooth with a metal filling?? That's what it feels like.
Any colour/fabric/accessorizing suggestions would be most appreciated

My returning faves that I don't miss.....

House He talks to people the way I wish I could Damn conscience!!

Pushing Daisies Only had a short 1st season last year, but it's a great show. Cute, funny, quirky, clever, a little bit surreal, and totally unique.

Giving it one more chance....

Without A Trace I didn't like last season at all. Way too dark and hard to follow. I think I missed a few episodes and didn't really care. If the first few episodes this season aren't a big improvement, then I'm going to vanish into thin air

Guilty pleasures.....

Deal or No Deal Howie is funny and the models are really hot!! I can say that even though I'm a girl, right?? And FINALLY, somebody won a million dollars!!

Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader No, I'm not

Dancing With The Stars Although after seeing this season's line-up, I don't know how long I'll watch it. I haven't heard of half of the "celebrities", and I'm worried Cloris Leachman might break a hip. She's in her EIGHTIES!!!

Watch it 'cause hubby likes it.....
Bones Seeing as hubby watches anything and everything sci-fi-related and/or creepy, it's hard to find a show he likes that I like too. It used to be Buffy, now it's Bones. I like the interaction between Bones and Booth, and Angela is great

Please go away......

EVERY REALITY SHOW IN EXISTENCE. Especially Survivor -- HATE it. Always have, always will

Yep, hubby and I got married 3 days after 9/11. When we woke up on the morning of our wedding day, the news was on the radio and the reporter announced that Jean Chretien had proclaimed September 14th the National Day of Mourning

So how are we celebrating?? Well, I painted more letters in the office, removed the wallpaper border from the guest bedroom, and we walked over to the dollar store to buy pads to put on the platform for the bed in the guest bedroom.

Hubby isn't the most romantic guy
