Redressing the office
Help!

DH will finish the office floor this weekend. I will be putting the furniture back in.
The previous configuration held 2 desks and 2 cabinets. We can reduce to one desk. DH's desk had his back to the the door. The other desk on the opposite wall. The 2 cabinets took up the other wall space. Not the most appealing look. How do I put it all back? Ideas? Do I need to edit more? Also need idea on ceiling lighting.
DH will paint out the chair rail as per smoodgie's suggestion.
No picture of the desk, it's in the garage on top of STUFF.....Plain table like with silver legs, standard IKEA issue, same color as cabinets.

RE: Redressing the office
Can you post the room and furniture measurements??

Off the top of my head, would this work:

Put the desk on the wall with the series of 3 pictures so that hubby's back will be to that wall and he'll be facing the doorway when he's sitting at his desk?? Then the lower credenza under the window and the taller cabinet on the wall to the left of the doorway.

The dark flooring looks great!! Clap

RE: Redressing the office
Thanks smoodgie.

The room is 10x10. DS suggested pretty much the same idea, with DH's desk facing the door way and the cabinets against the walls. The large one is about 4 feet and the smaller approx 3ft. Losing one desk will be an improvement.
We'll have to see as I can't have wires running all over the floor either.
I bought a black crystal chandelier for the room but DH and DS hate it. Back to the drawing board.

I give up! Nothing fits! Sad
I'm trying to reassemble the room so DH's back is not to the door. It looks awful no matter what configuration we try. Anyone with a solution? Cries

RE: Redressing the office
I've done as much as I can short of replacing everything in the room. It turned out better than i thought it would yesterday.

We still need lighting and I should take down the window covering. I think this might be a good spot for that elusive pendant light that I've been searching for.
