Question..........
Last year we bought DH's sister and DH a weekend getaway a Spa.......They loved it! It was the talk of their year.
This year I decided to capitalize on a good thing and do it again.....

Last year I booked a package, good for 6mo. The Spa sent a gift cert and all was taken care of. This year I've been told that I can only purchase a package for a 'high season' price, regardless of when they take the trip. This amounts to $240.00 more......When I asked about the extra $$, I was told that they would be 'upgraded' if the high season rates had not yet started.......I also have an option of buying a dollar amount cert as well. I didn't want to go that way because I didn't want to advertise the amount of the gift.
The website offers getaways from as low as $378.00 but I've been quoted a min of $599.00 because of the 'gift' claus.
Would you go ahead or dump the idea? I know they'd love the getaway but I'm pissed that I being forced to spend more $$ than I want or they advertise........Comments?
Uh, yeah, I know that it's Dec 18th...........Embarrassed

RE: Question..........
Eyebrows Well, let's think about this. The easiest solution is to take me on as your DH's sister and I have no problem with a gift certificate for this spa. Dance 2
I do know what you mean though. You do not want to spill the beans on the exact cost...but I must say the gift is already very generous so is that really a problem? You are selecting a spa and they are getting the gift certificates. I don't know but I feel that you paying so much more for the purpose of "gift-giving etiquette" does not sound right.

Oh, oh, me too, me too!!! I'll be donna's DH Cheesy Grin

I think I'd lean towards taking my business somewhere else if I were you. It's not right for them to force you to pay the high season rate. It should be your choice to pay whatever rate you want for whatever package you want. I wouldn't give them ANY money with that crappy attitude!!

Paula and her hubby stayed at a really nice place in Tofino a while back. She said they really enjoyed it. I can't remember the name -- I'll see if I can find it for you......

People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do.
