Oh, crap-o-rama :-(
Luigi came this morning to refinish the floors in my office and one other room in the basement. We knew there was damage to the parquet in the other room from cat pee
What we didn't know is what Luigi discovered this morning -- condensation that's damaged the parquet in both rooms. So, now all the parquet has to come out and we have to figure out where the condensation is coming from and then fix that problem and then put in new floors.... OMFG!!! ![]() At the rate we get projects done, I might have my office done by 2010 People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

RE: Oh, crap-o-rama :-(
That's the first thing I thought of -- I would DIE if those walls had to be ripped out!!!!!!
Hubby says that walls are OK. St the most, we might have to rip out the baseboards. So.... any suggestions for what to use on a basement floor?? Would cork be good?? I saw a nice chocolate brown cork at Lowes a few weeks ago..... People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

Yes!!! Cork would be fantastic!!!
Hopefully DH is right about the walls. And fingers crossed you don't have a foundation problem that calls for digging and re-sealing/wrapping the house's foundation!! Edin Design - Home remodeling is fun! |

I cannot imagine the headache and aggravation and mess that will happen if we need to get the entire foundation resealed and wrapped

RE: Oh, crap-o-rama :-(
We finally ripped up the parquet in the office -- so discouraging, because the majority of it is in perfect condition
![]() We decided to go with laminate in the office. It was on sale at Home Depot for about $2.00/sq ft -- a lot cheaper than cork, and I think it'll be more durable. The choice was between zebrano and walnut. We went with..... ......zebrano People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |
