Office chair
Would you go with a traditional office chair in a home office, or something less traditional, like a parsons chair??

RE: Office chair
For me it's all about comfort... I'd look at whether my feet sit flat on the ground (or on my foot-rest), whether I have back support and if the chair had arm rests (I like arm rests, but could do without if I found the perfect chair).
Having said that, however, in a special office like what you're designing, Smoo, I think the chair also has to look good. For that reason, I might stear clear of a more traditional office chair and go for a parsons chair. But only if my feet sat flat on the ground (I'm a shorty!!). RE: Office chair
I don't have any particular chair in mind. Just saw some office pics today that had non-traditional chairs that got me thinking.
There's still one B&W damask chair at HS. I sat on it, but I think it's too big and my feet don't reach the ground properly. I also tried out two really nice tub-style chairs, but same problem. I need longer legs I have a chair in the basement that used to belong to my grandma. It might be about the right size, but it definitely needs more padding on the seat and needs to be reupholstered. Which would probably be about the same price (or more) as buying new. I'd love a chair like sweetie's DD has, but HS hasn't had them for ages and probably won't have them again If anyone comes across cool, comfortable, sexy chairs, please let me know People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

RE: Office chair
I found it. A cool, comfortable, and sexy chair. I put it on hold at HomeSense tonight. I maybe should have just gone ahead and bought it, but I didn't want to be too impulsive!!
I can't find a picture of anything like it on the Net, but try to envision it -- chrome frame, square seat and back, thin arms, white leather seat and white leather baseketweave back. Supposedly, it's real Italian leather. Tres sexy and cool, oui?? And it's comfy too -- my feet even reach the ground properly I'll check out the local HS tomorrow to see if they have it. If not, I'll go to the other HS tomorrow and pick it up. Meanwhile, check out my office threads for some other updates People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

RE: Office chair
I'm sure it's very sturdy, but this chair gives be the willies!! I'd initially be afraid to sit in it for fear that it'd tip me off!
But it is extremely funky! It's not the chair you put on hold though, is it? It sounds great - I like the should of the woven leather back. Edin Design - Home remodeling is fun! |
