Another fabulous set of curtains from Lori -- these ones are for the bedroom. Thanks to everyone who helped me choose the double pleats -- they're just right And Lori added a special little embellishment that I think is a really nice touch

The fabric is a silk from Designer Fabrics. I already had the rod, finials, and rings. I'll have to lower the rod just a touch to bring the curtains closer to the floor, and there's a ring missing at the finial end of each panel. Hubby is gluing them together in his workshop And I didn't notice till after I took the pictures that the rod is uneven -- oops!! I also have to shorter the rod so the finials are just beyond the edges of the panels.

Here are the "before" curtains. They're really nice and were a great deal from HomeSense:

   

But as soon as teucer saw them in real life, she said they're too blue. We found this fabric with gray stripes that match the wall colour perfectly....

   

Can you see the little embellishment Lori added?? Buttons!!

Now we just need to make the upholstered bed. And I'd really like to go back to a chandelier -- the ceiling fan is great in the summer, but isn't anywhere near as pretty as a crystal chandelier.....

Smoodgie... they look great! I love how Lori placed the pleats with the grey/blue stripe. And I see her embellishment!! Terrific!!

Chandelier = good idea.

Suggestion... I mentioned this to you before in relation to your bedroom... why not paint the ceiling a light, subtle tan colour? Something that compliments (doesn't have to match/be as "dark") the alternating colours in the curtains.

All in all... looking fantastic!!

One question, can you take another photo of that chandelier that we sort of see in your photo?
From what I see I really like it. I am on a real chandelier kick these days.

Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore It started to make crackling/popping sounds, which worried me. Plus hubby kept insisting that we need a ceiling fan. So we returned it and got an (ugly) ceiling fan instead

I bought the chandelier at Home Depot. It was under $300, if I remember correctly. Here it is -- $299:

V, I would love to paint the ceiling, but it's popcorn and I don't have the desire to deal with it At least not now. Maybe when we empty the bedroom to have the floors refinished -- that's probably the only time that would be convenient. We'll see......

Funny you mentioned how the curtains are pleated -- Lori said that the stripes dictated where the pleats went and how many there would be

sweetie, hubby is going to be in big trouble -- absolutely NO action on the headboard or the chandelier. Boooooo!!!!
