RE: How dark gray??
No need to be sorry. I want to make sure I use the right gray, which is why I picked up some paint chips today -- I'm not 100% sure that Sparrow is right.
I'm hoping HD can use their colour match computer to make this gray. It's Laura Ashley/Valspar Mountain Pass. I looked it up on colorcharts.org, but there are no matches listed for it We shall see..... if I can't get the chip colour matched, then I'll just try to find an accessible gray that's the best match. BTW, I did I mention that I picked up the wallpaper today?? I can't remember -- I just painted the closet, and I've been overcome by fumes Either that, or brain cells died when I stopped breathing for too long. Every time I breathed in, I expanded enough to get myself wedged in!! People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

What do you think would happen if I mixed metallic silver paint with gray paint?? Would I just end up with a big gloopy mess??

??????
I just don't know I hate painting closets!! Glad to hear that you survived - and unwedged yourself! Yes, I read that you'd received the paper Any idea when DH will hang it? You'll paint the wall purple first, won't you? It doesn't have to be perfect... Edin Design - Home remodeling is fun! |

RE: How dark gray??
I'm still toying with the idea of using Ralph Lauren metallic paint on the non-wallpaper walls. But I'm worried it's going to be a PITA to paint and that it'll take a lot of coats......
I thought I could try pouring some of the Behr silver metallic paint into the Behr gray latex paint to give the walls a bit of a shimmer without the headache of following the RL metallic paint instructions. Hubby said he got wedged in when he painted the closet in his office too I don't want hubby to hang the paper till I finish painting the walls -- so when he hangs it will depend on when I get the painting done. Hubby thinks there's no point in painting the wall that the paper is going on..... do you think it's really that important?? I'm getting tired of painting, and there's still so much to do..... *sigh* People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

For the money you spent on the paper, it would be a shame if the seams parted a little (which they can do) and you can see faint lines of previous colour. If you colour match the purple and paint the walls that colour, the little parted seams will be the colour of the paper and they won't be visable. Why not google and see what the experts say... 'cause I'm FAR from expert on this topic!!! (just repeating what I saw on a decorating show...) Edin Design - Home remodeling is fun! |
