Hallway colour
We have to repaint the hallway. There are a lot of spots that need to be repaired, so I figure may as well just repaint the walls rather than touch them up.
I was thinking BM Yorkshire Tan. But then I thought.... would a dark colour work in the hall, or would that make it feel too confining?? There's a lot of light in one part of the hallway, but the other part is kind of dark. I need a colour that goes with a lot of other colours, seeing as every room in the house is off the hallway and is a different colour. People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

RE: Hallway colour
Every room!!!! LR, DR, kitchen, FR, bedrooms, office, bathroom, mudroom...... also, one hallway wall goes up to the loft and down to the basement
I want something warmer than gray, I think. And I need a colour that works with everything. People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

RE: Hallway colour
Are you considering painting you front doors (on the inside)?
What about a cream or champagne color? |

RE: Hallway colour
The front door colour will stay -- I LOVE the dark brown. Plus the door between the DR & kitchen is painted the same colour, and I really don't want to paint the door again!!
I'll see if I can find some colour chips that are close to the zebra fabric colour. Thanks for the suggestion People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |

RE: Hallway colour
I'm sorry I haven't weighed in on this one, Smoodgie... I don't feel I know enough to make a suggestion! What I do know - and what I KNOW you know (and that's another reason I haven't posted a thought until now) - is that you need to go neutral since your hall leads into so many colourful spaces. The reason I'm writing now... I wanted to say that I really like the sound of Sweetie's suggestion to go with a soft champaigne colour or with the lighter colour in your zebra print. And to add my own two cents... why not pull out your fan deck of BM whites and search for a warm colour. I remember Sarah R. once saying that she often achieves her soft looks by using whites with hints of colour rather then using the lightest version of that colour. Make sense?
Good luck! Edin Design - Home remodeling is fun! |
