What if I go with the gray patterned fabric that everyone likes, and then get Lori to make a little purple beaded cushion to sit on it?? That way, I can go with the really nice gray fabric, and also bring some purple to that end of the room.

Yes!!!

Yes, too, to the Costco mirror!! It has the dark that I wanted ('cause it's all about what I want Razz ) AND it has some silver bling like what you wanted. Perfect!!

As for the headboard... I say gray like the drapes. Let the wall be purple.

RE: Guest bedroom
Would a simple gray microfibre be sufficient for the headboard?? I can validate spending $50 on fabric to re-cover it, but not hundreds!!

It occurred to me that the carpet that used to be in the living room might work in the bedroom Idea It's 8' x 10', so would cover most of the floor -- the room is about 10' x 11'.

I think an inexpensive microfibre would be absolutely fine!
You're going to hate me for this suggestion... I think you should paint out the wood around the upholstered panels in a dark colour to match/coordinate with the other dark furniture in the room. EEK

Absolutely! A little too large for the space perhaps, but I say use what you've got!!
It'd be a perfect colour, don't you think?!

RE: Guest bedroom
I ordered the mirror from Costco on Sunday night, and it's already been delivered!! Yay! I hope it looks good!! It was delivered to hubby's workplace, so I'll have to wait till after work to see it.

Got a quote from the furniture place -- to re-cover the chair, add some foam to the seat, and re-finish the legs will cost about $500. Plus I need 2 or 3 yards of fabric at about $100/yd EEK I'm sure hubby and I can do it!!!

Maybe we should just make a whole new headboard from scratch. I have a friend who really likes this headboard and asked if we could make her one for her spare bedroom.

We'll have to empty out the room again to put the carpet in, seeing as it's going to cover almost the entire floor!!

RE: Guest bedroom
Are you adding the mirror only to balance the highboy?

RE: Guest bedroom
That, and hopefully to make the room seem a bit bigger than it is. And to add some sparkle.

You don't like it?? Sad
