Thanks Icon_smile

The only thing I'm not sure about is the curtains -- do you think they look too skimpy?? Would purple be better?? Ikea has these purple curtains for $60:

RE: Guest bedroom
I find the grey quite elegant. The wallpaper holds centre stage in this room; I would be hesitant to mess with that............Wink Plus I personally do not care for grommet style drapery............it looks so 1999..........Cheesy Grin

RE: Guest bedroom
I decided to stick with the gray curtains. The purple wallpaper really should be the star of the room, and purple curtains would take away from that.

As per cdngirl's suggestion, I picked up a tall mirror to lean behind the night table. I like the look, but the frame colour is too red, I think....

And here are a couple of purple fabrics I'm considering for the chair. I think the side of the room opposite from the wallpaper wall needs some purple, and this is a good way to do it Icon_smile

I agree that the mirror works. The frame looks ok in a photo; maybe too red IRL.

I prefer the fabric on the right. Did you decide against a pattern?

RE: Guest bedroom
it would have been great to have a mirror the same height as the dresser...i was thinking that you could do a mirror that goes as high as the dresser and even just past the top of the dresser...so it looks like it goes all the way but doesn't really. The headboard does need to be covered though...silver would work well i think. I also think the room needs an area rug...maybe even those cheaper cream ones that costco carries in store sometimes...they are about $80 and will really help pull the room together. Great job though. Icon_smile

RE: Guest bedroom
This mirror from Costco seems to be the right size, and I like the combination of the espresso & silver frame:

I love the patterned fabric, but would that be too much gray at that end of the room?? That's why I was thinking about a purple fabric for the chair.

I've been thinking about re-covering the headboard. Although not much of it shows with the cushions propped up against it, so I don't want to spend a lot of money and effort on it. Hmmm.... would a purple headboard work??

I'll keep an eye out for an area rug. But I don't want to spend too much more money on the room -- it's supposed to be a budget job after all!!

RE: Guest bedroom
I was thinking about the chair last night (when I should have been trying to fall asleep!!) What if I go with the gray patterned fabric that everyone likes, and then get Lori to make a little purple beaded cushion to sit on it?? That way, I can go with the really nice gray fabric, and also bring some purple to that end of the room.
