Where we've been Project #5

This one's been a lot of hard work but even more fun! Fantastic client that bakes delicious fresh muffins for us!!! I thought that only happend on tv...lol
The scope began as a partial renovation to update the kitchen but once we started investigating our options it's turned into a full reno. We kept the same basic footprint because the client prefered it plus it helped us keep the budget under control. All new cabinetry, counters, island, lighting & electrical, sink/faucet and serving bar. All the cabs are installed. Counters are in. Sink and faucet are sparkling! We're just waiting on the custom range hood and backsplash to be installed. Once the painter has finished his touch ups, I get to style it for the reveal!
So looking forward to that icing on the cake! I'll post some finished pics but in the mean time, here's where we started...

Lots of natural light to work with. Opens up all kinds of colours to work with so will be very interesting to see what you did.

Almost done...Here are a few progress pics at various stages of the install. From messy to less messy!lol We're on to the pretty "lipstick phase" now...window treatments are being made, painting is happening and accessories have, almost all, been sourced. I can't tell you how gratifying it is to see smiles on client's faces as the transformation starts to happen. It's truly the best part of the job.

Fabulous! I have to say I am surprised with the placement of the stove-top. But then again, I see you did not move anything. I wonder if they find that placement annoying?
Love the backsplash and the hood.

Thanks LIM! The cooktop location was the biggest obstacle I had to face in doing this kitchen! I recommended they move it but they really didn't want to undertake the venting issues etc. and assured me they actually preferred it towards the end. We even considered moving the window but to no avail...So, to make it more useful and compliant, I increased the "landing space" to the recommended 15" to the left so at least a pot could be put down if needed and did the custom range hood to anchor the area so it looked more purposeful. Moving the sink to the center of the passthru also helped by increasing the usable counter space to the right of the cooktop. Sometimes I have to concede to the homeowners wishes/preferences regardless of the options I present to them because afterall it's their space...lol

I would find the cooktop in the wrong place for me I like it on the island but love the colours and cabinet choice. I like how th island is a different finish. Very nice

I'm really looking forward to the walls being painted. We decided on a raspberry red which will pull that colour out of the counters and look fab with the bluey greens. The corbels on the range hood and on the desk bookshelf have yet to be stained but will be the same as the island. With all the creamy whites I think the punch of colour will be fab!
