antique flower vase
I do not have a large collection of flower vases (wish I did) but I now have this beautiful little milk glass vase that belonged to my grandmother. It has a little glass cover that sits on the base where you poke through each stem to end up with this lovely little bouquet.
I am just lovin' it. I can see using this when a larger bouquet starts to die off and I have a few stems left that can be used in this little gem.
Just sharin'....spring is out there somewhere and flowers inside always get me excited.
8}Even if it did snow here last night.

There are exactly as many special occasions in life as we choose to celebrate.

I love flowers and LOVE vases.........I have a huge collection but none are milk glass and only 3 would be considered 'antique' or collector. I don't know a lot about milk glass but found 3 images that I like. The 2nd one is a Russian piece and I really like the way the milk glass was incorporated into the 3rd space. (Finally found the designer responsible for that great photo. Eddie Ross)

I love that third photo!
My grandmother had this on her kitchen table often with flowers from her garden. I loved it. The oak table that it is sitting on was a table that she had in the kitchen to hold her radio. Smile
The sentimental value is enormous for me and not being a collector it stands out as unique. I have a small collection of Peruvian pottery in black and cream that I absolutely love. I am not a huge pottery fan but I really love what they do with black and cream in Peru.
I am such a huge fan of flowers in my home that I really should collect a large number of vases....hmmm...I guess I will start keeping my eyes open at some flea/antique markets.

Love the vase and what a wonderful memory of your grandmother.

I too love vases and fresh flowers in my home all the time. I too have a collection but no milk glass vases - something else to add to the list!
