My upcoming blog - netmiff - 01-23-2010 02:47 PM well, it looks my blog is becoming a reality in the local on-line newspaper, http://www.ckdp.ca. However, it needs a name! I will be blogging about the no-expense reno in the house, and have come up with a couple of possibilities myself, I was thinking "My Old House" or "Lady of the House" (as in what's the lady of the house up to this week?); we don't have a budget for this reno, so maybe somehting like "Real-life Reno" or "Sweat Equity Reno". None of these are brilliant, so if you have any ideas, they'll be welcome! RE: My upcoming blog - Northern Miner - 01-24-2010 05:46 AM Change on the Cheap Designs without Dollars Home Alone Something From Nothing Design by Dilemma or just Design Dilemmas RE: My upcoming blog - netmiff - 01-24-2010 12:16 PM Ooooh, they are all good - I thought of "Weekend Warrior" - not original I know, but descrip[/align]tive RE: My upcoming blog - lessismore - 01-25-2010 12:10 PM Blogging is really interesting. I have a blog as well but I have to tell you that it does take a lot of work to keep it current. I think the real secret is that you need to be blogging about something you feel passionate towards and then it is easy to sit down and write. Good luck blogging! RE: My upcoming blog - Doctor Q - 01-25-2010 05:13 PM I couldn't find the story... ![]() What's your blog's link? Good luck! RE: My upcoming blog - netmiff - 01-26-2010 08:13 AM Dr. Q, it's upcoming - not yet started . . . will post a link when I get it. RE: My upcoming blog - Dustbunnydiva - 01-26-2010 01:20 PM Oh how cool is that. Good for you. I like the sweat equity idea as it says 'DIY' and improvement at the same time but it does refer to homeowners and leaves renters out as it's not a phrase they would use much. You may have to watch things like weekend warrior being a phrase that carries over to other things like off roading or x-treme sports etc.. You also need something that isn't already in wide use in other places. I'm just going to brainstorm a bit since that sometimes help bring out ideas. Maybe it's adding a touch of humour like: - Sweat Equity 'r Me. - Weekend Sweat Equity - The Novice's guide to Sweat Equity or how I get big looks for little money - Necessity is the mother of DIY or to add those who aren't property owners in: - The Thrifty Weekend Decorator If it's a more of a play by play type blog...trying to think of how to relay that in the title might offer ideas. Just throwing out words.. - Diary of a Frugal homeowner - The Frugal Girl's Guide to home improvement (decor?, decorating?) Maybe it's more vague: - 1 Toolbox, 1 empty wallet, 1000's of ideas - One frugal decorating fiend and her toolbox - more decorating ideas than money - the money pit diet One way to come up with good titles is to hit the thesaurus (http://thesaurus.reference.com) and enter each word you can think of that describes what you are doing. Like frugal, decor, projects, decorate, etc. and list the words you like for each. When you see them in lists you can often get a good inspiration for a new play on words you might not normally twig to. Also keep in mind the tone you want the blog to take be it serious or humourous for instance. RE: My upcoming blog - netmiff - 01-27-2010 09:55 AM another thought : Champagne reno - beer budget? or Not just DIY, but Do-It-All RE: My upcoming blog - netmiff - 01-28-2010 02:57 PM OK guys, thanks for all the help - and here's the URL : http://champagnerenobeerbudget.wordpress.com/ RE: My upcoming blog - sweetie - 01-29-2010 07:29 AM Congratulations on your blog Jeanette!
