Divine baking ...
These toffee squares really are amazing - don't even want to think about the calories...
DIVINE TOFFEE SQUARES PART 1 (this is for the bottom layer) 1/2 cup all purpose flour 3/4 cup Rice Krispies 1/4 tsp. baking soda Pinch of salt 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/3 cup butter PART 2 (this is for the middle layer) 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup brown sugar PART 3 (this is for the top layer) 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 1/4 cups Rice Krispies Part 1 (Procedures) - mix ingredients together; press into greased 8 x 8-inch pan. Bak e at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until slightly brown Part 2 (Procedures) - mix together milk, butter and brown sugar; cook in heavy saucepan on medium heat. Boil five minutes, stirring constantly (essential to do this as it burns easily and then will taste burnt). Do not let blacken. Cool. Part 3 (Procedures) - melt chocolate chips and coat Rice Krispies. Spread on middle layer (part 2). Chill for 2 hours before cutting. Store in airtight container or freeze for up to one month. Makes 20-24 squares (they can be cut small as they are very rich!) |

RE: Divine baking ...
Yum!!! I don't think I'd be able to let them chill for 2 hours before eating them!!!
Thanks for sharing
People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do. |
