Chandelier for TT's Dining Room
Okay everyone... I'm going to need some inspiration for a dining room chandelier and I'm hoping you can help!

I'm looking for something that has a vintage, arts & crafts vibe, but perhaps with a contemporary spin (or perhaps not Cheesy Grin). Non-A&C, but vintage feel would be fine, too... depending on the design. I can't have anything too large (room is small) and I don't want anything fussy/fancy/oranate.

I did find the attached chandelier on the Home Depot website... what do you think about this direction? (sorry for the small image size!)

More info: while I haven't picked out my drapery fabric, I plan on painting the room a warm red or a russet orange (will depend on the fabric choosen). The room will have panel wainscotting (similar to Smoodgies) painted BM's Cloud White. Living room (sitting pretty close to this space) will be something like a sage green.

Thoughts and suggestions are wanted, please! Cheesy Grin

What about a simple wrought iron one. The paint colour and art will bring in a fair amount of colour and interest.

Thanks Sweetie!
I love #3 and #4... #4 is like what Cdngirl suggested (a suggestion I liked very much). I think that #4 may be too large, though.
What site did you find these chandeliers in, Sweetie?
I'm actually just doing a google search right now and came across the attached chandelier...

Love the last one too......Wink

I google searched like you did, the 3rd one is described as a 'basketweave' so certainly true to the period. The fourth one is by Artcraft. I found their lighting in Coquitlam, furniture row off Lougheed at Robinson Lighting I think. I know for sure it wasn't Vanouver Lighting. They had lots of different takes on the one I posted, large and small, I really liked them. They have carraige lamps and apothecary style too.

V, would the last chandelier you posted work in your bedroom??

I think a dining room fixture that points the light down with exposed bulbs (like the second-to-last one that you posted) would maybe be a bit glaring when you're sitting at the table eating??

I like the ones sweetie posted, esp. #3.

I love this chandelier...
But it's too fussy for DH. He'll go for just about anything in another room, trusting me to make the right choice (yikes - the presure!), but he won't do a fussy and feminine chandelier in our bedroom.
So we were thinking something like this:
    or this
Because the bedroom is small, I feel that something this size would be fine over our bed.

I'm sooooo glad you mentioned this! We're going to be using this glass table in the dining room

Not only do I NOT want to have the glare you're speaking of, I don't want it to reflect off the table into our eyes!
Thanks Smoodgie!

This isn't the ideal dining room table... it's really quite casual (and definitely doesn't work with the beautiful chandelier that I love!)... it was purchased for our kitchen in the condo and I had intended on using it the kitchen here, but it's too large (or the kitchen is too small Wink) and we can't even have two people sitting at it without causing traffic problems Sad

Here's what I was thinking... tell me what you think... I'd like to get 4 parsons chairs to sit at this table. Would that make it more diningroom-like?

I remember Icon_smile
I guess I just wanted to be sure it worked with THIS table...
You see... it's only 42" in diameter... I could look into having another, larger piece of glass cut for it... of course I'd have to be sure it could fit in the room!
I really love this table and chairs... it'd be a shame to store the chairs in the attic, but they're not very formal (i.e. for a dining room) are they?
