I've ordered samples of Black Walnut in wide plank and Gunstock Oak in hand scraped. Hopefully one of the theses two will work for now......

Got my samples today! They had 3 choices in bamboo as well but too light for my taste. DH think the samples look the same............The hardwood choices are MUCH more desirable but not a good idea for a space with chairs wheels rolling around on it.......so for now...

Can you see a difference at all? I prefer the one on the right, it has more black in it making it darker.

I prefer the one on the left, I think. I like the grain in that one better. Or maybe it's just more noticeable because the colour is a bit lighter.

You're right, the grain is more defined. I'll have to keep looking at it

Got the flooring! DH and I picked up it up yesterday! Since smoodgie was the only one with an opinion, I had a 50/50 chance of getting right, sooooo I went with the other one

DH has never installed flooring before so this should be quite an experience!

Well, we bought the instructional VIDEO.......yeah, they still make those, I had to think for a moment wondering if we still had a VCR! So after the tutor session I'll have to check his demeanor and go from there!

Since I have him painting again today, I probably won't push my luck

Room is cleared! DH emptied his office today! Hoping to get the carpet out this eve. It's a beautiful day here in BC so that might be a stretch........come to think of it, I haven't seen him for 1/2 an hour!

I can't remember if you said whether or not you're painting the office?? I love the colour that's in there now. I think it'll look great with a dark floor
