Bathroom makeover
Thought I'd post a few pics of our bathroom makeover. I still want to replace the UGLY shower and hang some artwork, but it's almost done.

Maybe it'll give seanb some inspiration Icon_smile

This is the only "before" pic I can find. Notice the GREEN everywhere Barf We took this pic at the home inspection.

And the after:

And a few more pics:

Some info on the room:

Wall colour: Behr Sparrow
Counterop: Corian in Silver Birch
Mirrors: We made using the original builder's mirror cut into smaller pieces. Built the frames, added the tiles.
Faucets: $35US each on Ebay!!
Sinks: From absolutehome.com
Vanity: Farrow & Ball Mahogany with 2 coats of spray varathane
Backsplash: Gray glass tiles from Home Depot
Chandelier: Home Depot
Fixture over vanity: Rona

You just can't go wrong with green - my favorite color.

Hey Smoodgie... I just found this thread Cheesy Grin
The work you've done on this bathroom is outstanding. What a difference!!
I have a question = if you and DH replace the shower (and the bidet EEK) with a larger, glam shower, what kind of tile do you think you'd use that would tie into your existing tile? Of course you could include the tile you used as your backsplash as accent tiles... maybe more?? It would be a shame if you had to replace all the tile in your bathroom (i.e., around the tub and on the floor) just to accommodate your new shower Sad
Tell us what you're thinking!!

RE: Bathroom makeover
I'm thinking I'll do ANYTHING to get rid of those damn dark green marble tiles!! Not only do I not like the dark green Barf, but I've almost wiped out numerous times -- wet marble = SLIPPERY.

Also, if we remove all these tiles and re-tile, we could have heated floors Blue Thumbs Up

I even know what tiles I would use -- assuming HD still carries them..... they're a gray porcelain that looks like slate. I think they'd work perfectly with the gray & brown colour scheme we have going on in there. Maybe use the gray glass tiles for an accent in the shower like you suggested.

But for now, the ensuite has to wait..... too much other stuff to do that needs to be done......

RE: Bathroom makeover
Ahhh... I thought the tile was black. Yes, green marble has gotta go!

I really like your idea of a gray porcelain that looks like slate - we used a greenish/gray porcelain in our condo and loved it!! The great thing about the tile we used is that it had a texture to it that made it perfect in the bathroom... no concern with slipping Cheesy Grin
