A Public garden?
So, I was touring around my neighborhood and came upon a public garden. I Don't KnowI have never heard of this before so I went in to look around. It was all sectioned off for each group of people I guess and each contained a whole array of flowers and vegetables of all different kinds. At least one of the pumpkins was already three feet across! I don't have my own garden anymore so I thought I might post whatever else I see. Does anyone participate in this kind of thing? or even anyone you know?

RE: A Public garden?
Wow!! Those are amazing pictures!!!! Clap

I've never used a public garden, but I've heard about them. And I walked by what I think was a public garden last winter in Luxembourg City. It's a great concept -- people in the city share a plot of land to grow pretty much whatever they want to grow. I've heard about rundown lots in cities being converted into public gardens. I think it does a lot for the morale of the residents, and it's a lot prettier to look at than a concrete lot Icon_smile

People that think they know everything seriously annoy those of us that actually do.

RE: A Public garden?
A large # of condo developments have this - great idea.

In the UK, vegetable common spaces are common - they're called allotments and in some areas, there's a waiting list. Typically in days gone by, it would be a meeting point for older gentleman who would gather there, sit and smoke and sneak the odd beer while trying to get away from home!
